ANNUAL MEETING MINUTES
Present at meeting: Rick Walker, Chuck Brazell, John Springer, Rich Munson, Steve Lowe, Ben Hooks, Dicksie Walker, Jim Stevenson, Dave Olson, Les Bentley, Ashley Tackett, Dana Adams, and Lynn Easley.
Call to order by Rick Walker
Approval of Minutes From Last Meeting:
The previously emailed minutes approved with a motion to accept by Ben Hooks, and seconded by Steve Lowe.
Reports of Officers:
John Springer – No change to the financial report so far this year. The club is in good financial shape owing to not being able to do many activities last year.
Chuck Brazell – Thanked John Springer for sending out a calendar of events and to Steve Lowe for putting it together on short notice.
Ben Hooks – Discussed the mast hoist, with Steve Lowe, they have taken some drone shots of the crane and surrounding boats. John Springer has talked to 110 Welding, but it would have to be taken down and brought to their shop. Rick Walker is planning to get the crew working on his dock to take a look at it. Steve Lowe and John Springer have come up with an alternative way to fix it without taking the hoist down. Will discuss more at the next monthly meeting.
Reports of Committees:
Jim Stevenson – Will try the Saturday Race Series again this year. Between the weather and the Covid situation, only one race was conducted. Will be the same course as last years.
Election of Directors and Officers
No nominations were received from the members for the two director positions of Chuck Brazell and Lynn Easley that were up for election. Both have agreed to remain on the board. Ashley Tackett was elected to one of the two non-voting advisory positions for the one year term.
For the year 2021 term , no changes for the officers. Rick Walker will remain as Commodore, Chuck Brazell will continue as Vice Commodore, John Springer will also continue as Treasury, and Lynn Easley will continue as Secretary. The following members will also serve as directors, Rich Munson, Steve Lowe, and Ben Hooks.
For the 2022 year, three directors positions will be up for election.

Possible conflict with the tenth Saturday Race Series and the Octoberfest Regatta, but the dates for Race Series can be changed that fall.
What Other Kinds of Events Should the Club Consider:
Rick Walker noted the difficulty of getting members to attend a Zoom meeting as only twelve members actually made it into the Zoom annual meeting.
With that being said, suggestion of a spring and fall Zoom presentation would be possible. One of the possible presenters would be Ross Hayes. However his presentations would be much more interesting in person. The other person that is brought up is Bella, but she would be more difficult to get on a Zoom presentation. One suggestion would be an in person meeting for those that were able to attend in person, and perhaps a live stream for those unable to attend. Hopefully by late summer or fall things can be back to at least semi-normal.
Rich Munson asked what the precedent was for the club to do things for recently deceased members and active participants. Individual members are encouraged, but in the past, the club itself hasn’t. The person mentioned, was an active sailor, but wasn’t a member of the current club.
Next Monthly Meeting:
The next monthly meeting is scheduled for February 10 at noon via Zoom
