Old Business

Slip Waiting List:

No current open slips and no one is on the list for a slip.

Mast Hoist:

One attempt made to break the mast crane loose was unsuccessful. Still have the rented chain wrench for a few more days before it has to be returned. Planning to make one more attempt to break it lose. Currently planned for this Wednesday, weather permitting as rain is currently forecast.

New Business

Letter to Ex-Members:

Steve Lowe suggested a written letter from the Commodore and signed by the directors to be sent to previous members and non members who have participated in club or events in the past to consider rejoining the club.

Third Friday Social Events:

The club will restart the Third Friday Social Event, starting on Friday May 21st. Two venues were mentioned, 1836 Texas Kitchen and Texas Music City. In order to keep things simple, the club will keep the same venue for the Third Friday’s Socials. Texas Music City was selected due to its nice outdoor patio, and live music starting at 8:00 pm on Fridays, as it is a common meeting place for the director meetings. The event will start at 6:00 pm and members can stay for the live music if they desire.

Hot Dogs on the Dock Social:

John Springer suggested having a hot dog cookout on the dock. Those evens are well attended. Suggested having it from 11:00 am till 2:00 pm to avoid the hotter part of the afternoon. Members then could go for a sail if desired afterwards. The date suggested was Saturday, May 29th.

Crossroads:

Steve Lowe noted the club was at a crossroads, without events, there is no club. With restrictions ending, its time to start doing things.

The club will be restarting the Third Fridays Socials, in addition the club will be hosting a hot dog social on the dock.

Ashley Tackett will contact Ross Hayes to see if and when he might be interested in doing a presentation to the boating public. A Wednesday night was suggested. Possible venues were Emerald Bay Community Center or the establishment formally known as the Purple Pig.

Other ideas are needed to further engage the public and attract new members.

The club will also need to reserve a location for the Christmas Dinner, previous years have been at Eagle's Bluff which have worked out well. It is currently scheduled for December 10th.

Other major events that fall are Octoberfest Regatta in October, and the Turkey Fun Race scheduled for Nov 13th.

Date and Time of Next Meeting:

The next monthly meeting is currently scheduled for June 9th at noon at Texas Music City.

Adjournment:

Motion to adjourn by Rich Munson, seconded by John Springer.
